  • YOU HAD BETTER PUT A RING ON IT…..BUT DON’T NEGLECT THE PAPERWORK

In my previous article, I discuss a very successful couple that did not have control over a family trust with $5 m of assets.

Worse still , they had been together for 10 years  before going up the isle  and had presumed the will they did pre marriage was still valid.

Now with 2 young kids they were horrified that their wills are invalid. as wills  are made invalid at time of marriage, unless the marriage was contemplated  when the wills were done. With no valid will , even if they were Appointors of their trust, they had no one to step into their shoes.

But as usual, the clients presumed differently.

Had it not been for their pro active accountants, the clients would still think they had valid wills and focus on building their wealth and businesses.

So ..put a ring on it ..but don’t forget the paperwork.time-bomb.png
